    PM SHRI Vidyalayas (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) is a central government initiative launched in India to upgrade and develop over 14,500 schools across the country into model schools of excellence. These schools are meant to provide high-quality education and serve as role models for other public schools. The initiative was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022 and aims to strengthen the existing educational infrastructure in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

    Key Features of PM SHRI Vidyalayas:

    1. Holistic Learning Environment: These schools will focus on a holistic, integrated, and student-centered approach to education, incorporating various aspects of the NEP 2020.
    2. Curriculum and Pedagogy: Emphasis will be placed on innovative teaching methods, experiential learning, critical thinking, and the development of skills necessary for the 21st century.
    3. Digital and Infrastructure Upgrades: The schools will be equipped with modern educational technology, including smart classrooms, digital labs, and high-quality learning resources.
    4. Inclusive Education: The initiative will ensure that every child, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, gets access to quality education.
    5. Green and Eco-Friendly Schools: PM SHRI schools will also aim to be environmentally sustainable by promoting renewable energy, rainwater harvesting, and other green initiatives.
    6. Teacher Training and Support: Teachers in these schools will receive special training to ensure
      that they are well-equipped to implement new teaching methodologies aligned with NEP goals.
